Matthew pointed me to this contest and told me that I should at least try to do something for it since I am interested in learning how to decorate cakes. (I've become addicted to Ace of Cakes recently and I think Matthew may have just a bit too much faith in my abilities). I told him that I would try it and see what happened and I'm going to start work on it today (I have to have it submitted by noon PST on 12/31).
My scheme for the cake is going to be a tree druid in the middle of the cake with a few, if not all, of the other druid forms sitting around it. Last night, before Kara, I put pencil to drawing paper, just to see if I could at least sketch some of the figures and I was quite pleased with the results considering I've not had any art classes since elementary school.

Here are my sketches of tree form, cat form and bear form:
I did the tree form drawing first and it didn't come out quite as well as I had hoped.
Cat form was the last drawing I did. I think it turned out ok but I was not 100% pleased with it.
I did the bear form drawing right after I did the tree drawing. I was very happy by the way it turned out.
